FotoDumky — це колекція думок, висловлених фотографією.

FotoDumky is a collection of thoughts expressed through photography. The photograph is the carrier; the thought is the unit. They are not separable — a FotoDumka is what happens when both arrive at once.

This is not a portfolio. Nothing here is for hire. The photographs are not illustrations of the sentences, and the sentences are not captions for the photographs. Sometimes the thought is philosophical, sometimes it is a joke, sometimes it is only two words. Some photographs are allowed to say nothing at all.

The name joins foto — photograph — with dumky, the Ukrainian word for thoughts. The Ukrainian originals stay on the page, because the thought was born in that language; the English versions try to carry the idea rather than the words.

What this collection asks of you is small: stop for a moment, look, and see what it makes you think.
